Ioan Gramatic
Ioan Gramatic
Violine, Viola, Gesamtleitung

Ioan Gramatic was born in Bucharest, Romania. After completing his training as a violinist and violin teacher in Bucharest (University of the Arts), he continued his studies in Switzerland (Anne Bauer, Gyulla Stuller, Pierre Amoyal, Karen Turpie). He received important impulses as a musician and person from Igor Bezrodny (Moscow Conservatory of Music and Helsinki Music Academy). Further enriching moments were the encounters with great artists and educators of our time such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Igor Ozim, Sylvia Rosenberg, Franco Gulli, Ana Chumachenko, Detlef Hahn. As a winner of national and international competitions, he worked and continues to work as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster (including the Sinfonietta Bern, Neuenburg Symphony Orchestra, Neuenburg Chamber Orchestra, Zurich String Soloists, Zurich Symphonic Orchestra). For over 25 years, this activity has been supplemented by several apprenticeships in music institutions in Switzerland as well as the founding and management of several youth orchestras and youth music camps. He has been running his company Artes fine violins in Winterthur since 2012.

Music has played an important role for Heidi Gramatic since she was a child. Luckily, she always had teachers who were able to pass on her passion for music and playing the violin. After graduating from high school, Heidi studied violin and pedagogy with Eiko Furusawa (Zurich), Karen Turpie (Schaffhausen Conservatory) and Ulrich Gröner (Winterthur University of Music/Zurich). As a freelance musician, she played and continues to play in various orchestras in Switzerland. Since 2000 she has been teaching a violin class and string ensembles in Kreuzlingen/TG, and since 2020 also at the youth music school in Winterthur. It is very important to Heidi Gramatic to convey to children and young people the joy of music and making music and to accompany them on their way to being able to express themselves musically. The interaction encourages them a lot - it's the best motivation! In 2015, she and her husband, Ioan Gramatic, founded the “Spring Days Music Holidays” for children and young people, an orchestra camp that takes place annually in spring. She lives with her husband and their 3 children in Winterthur.
